A CHINESE SUGAR BOWL

Decorated in London by Henri-Joseph Duvivier
Circa

Duvivier’s chinoiseries, loosely in the style of Jean-Baptiste Pillement, are distinguished by a lyrical elegance. Very much the same painting can be found on Chelsea porcelain of the early Gold Anchor Period and then on Tournai porcelain in the 1760s, often also in a green monochrome.
